ARTIST STATEMENT:
An award winning Bernina Fashion Show Designer, Justine designs a collection of special occasion Shibori hand pleated and painted separates. She specializes in clothing for the mother of the bride or groom. Make an appointment with Justine on the day she works to order a custom fit ensemble for that special occasion.
Drawing since the age of 4, Justine is the daughter of a fashion illustrator mother and furniture designer father. Justine has spent 30 plus years in the fashion industry as an illustrator, art director, designer, educator and published author. A regular contributing writer for Belle Armoire Magazine, Justine also self publishes her own textbook – Drawing the Fashion Body- available at PVAC The Artists Studio. On the Fashion Advisory Councils of three colleges, Justine teaches Costume & Fashion Design/Illustration at Art Center College of Design, Saturday Fashion Drawing through Art Center’s public program – Art Center at Night ACAN, Mt San Antonio College and at Otis Fashion Dept Summer of Art high school program. She draws regularly with “The Drawing Club” and continues to do free-lance illustration work. Her clothing collection is also sold through specialty boutiques in San Francisco and Santa Fe.
