ARTIST’S STATEMENT:

I have always been drawn to art and crafts and the thrill of making something with my own hands. In today's electronic world, it proves even more refreshng and challenging to capture a thought-provoking image with my own hands.

I was born in Idaho and raised in Nevada, but California has been my home most of my adult life. My artistic endeavors were often overshadowed by life's other responsibilities and a successful career in the business world. With the realization that the beauty around us often escapes us while we pursue our busy lives, I have since committed myself to a second career as an artist. I'd like others to take a moment's break from their busy lives and share in the beauty of nature.

Although I am largely self-taught, I continue to broaden my artistic knowledge through workshops and various classes and have studied with several local artists. Through my study of art I now look at the world differently, taking in more detail along with all of the tones, shadows and reflections. My husband and I have traveled extensively throughout the United States and marvel at the majestic, diverse beauty of America. It is a privilege to see it as it is today and to cotemplate both its history and its future.

I am a member of the Palos Verdes Art Center, San Pedro Arts, South Coast Botanical Gardens, Friends of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and Point Fermin Lighthouse Society.

I live in San Pedro, the environment I love best, next to the ocean. My studio is in my home.
